In and out of the office a lot recently. What with a poorly child, music concerts, sports days, dance rehearsals, cricket matches, football tournaments, residentials and much more getting enough work done for Nella cards is quite challenging! Saying that we have had a great few weeks … lots of lovely orders and lots more designing to be done before the summer holidays begin.
Our Laissez Lucie Faire range from a lovely company in France is proving very popular and Lucie has been busy doing some more cute designs for us. I’ve been busy working on some neon kids age cards featured in the photo. Can’t wait to get these printed.
Roll on the summer holidays but not before I’ve finished all my designs!
This week I’ve spent working on a new kids range called “Little Critters” They’re starting to look great. Bright and cheerful animals for kids ages. I might even get them printed with some neon inks and envelopes to make them really bright. Can’t wait to get them out there selling.
Today being Friday is “Creative Day” where I try new ideas and try to do something different. So I’ve started a linocut bird project inspired by the Grand Western Canal in Tiverton.
Can’t believe my last blog was a Happy Easter blog. Where does the time go?
Still working on sales. Hard work but the more we get our name out there the more order’s we’ll get! Our wrap business is increasing so I’ve been working on more designs. Also some new ideas for Autumn. Our gorgeous Laissez Lucie Faire products are now on Not on the High Street. Take a look http://www.notonthehighstreet.com/nella.
Thinking about possibly licensing some designs out. Anyone got any experience of this?
The weekend coming brings The Exmoor Challenge for my sons Noah and Eden (a 16 mile hike across Exmoor). Should be quite a challenge!
Great news this week following our wrap review at a large department store. After lots of hard work designing and printing up full size wrap mockups 10 have been chosen up from the 2 we have in the range already. Very exciting but I won’t say any more until we get the actual order in writing!!
This week I’ve been a photographer most of the week taking pics of all our gorgeous Laissez Lucie Faire products and putting them onto Not on the High Street. Lets hope some orders come rolling in soon.
I’m trying to keep Fridays as a Creative Day trying new ideas. I’m starting to work on a series of woodcut bird designs specifically from the Tiverton canal as I go running there and love it. Started with a little rough drawing of a grey wagtail …
Happy Easter Holidays Kids …
Another week … can’t believe it’s Friday again. So relieved our wrap mockups we’ve been waiting for arrived this morning just in time to send out to a big range review next week. They looked great so fingers crossed. They were meant to get here yesterday but as always when you want something important to arrive it never does!
Starting to think about a new kids age range. Watch this space …
Some great publicity in Progressive Greetings this week. Articles featuring a couple of our cards and some wrapping paper. Spot our LLF parrot card in Rio Rhythm.
Friday afternoon:) Some great orders at the beginning of the week. Our cards will soon be in Funky Pigeon so I’ve been sending them pdfs of all the different designs we’re supplying them.
Working on some more designs of wrap that hopefully John Lewis will like. Another Little Monster one (seen below) and some Cuties wrap. As well as designing I’ve been spending every morning on the phone speaking to some lovely potential and existing customers. Looking forward to another busy week on Monday but first its the weekend!
A busy week so far. James has been processing orders, writing invoices and ordering stock. After discovering Little Monsters is our best selling line I’ve been working on some new wrapping paper. My first attempt below.
As well as following up sales with e-mails and calls I’ve also been updating the website with some new Father’s Day Little Monster cards. Tomorrow morning is saved for chasing money in – not so fun! Not long till I’m picking Martha my daughter up from school and taking 12 out for Pizza for her birthday. That will be a challenge!
Back in the office after a busy half term. Love spending more time with the kids. Plenty of orders last week as well Today spent catching up on many e-mails, finishing Mother’s Day artwork for the scribbler website. Also doing a header for Emma’s lovely A Little Imagination craft sets. This is one my daughter, Martha, made over the weekend.
I had a lovely e-mail from the Scribbler print on demand site yesterday saying how well our Valentine Monster cards have sold so today I’ve been working on some Mother’s Day cards for them. Their site is getting more and more successful. Have a look www.scribbler.com.
The rest of the day has been on the phone again this time speaking to our Scottish customers who are all very friendly and helpful. We are looking for a new Scottish agent so we’ve been finding out the favourites!
Spent the day on the phone to our lovely existing and prospective customers. What a friendly (except 1!) lot of people. One lady loved my name, Belinda, as she has a teddy called the same from when she was a kid. Another guy thought I was his Mum! Orders coming in and lots of possible export business
Just got back from Exeter to visit Inside Out, a lovely gift and card shop, in Princesshay. They ordered a lovely selection of cards and they look great in the shop. I love selling to local shops!
